In a change to the normal introduction to our newsletter, can I start by bringing a number of new marketing opportunities to your attention?
At the end of 2005 I sensed that this year was going to be one in which we would be looking to deliver even better value for money to our customers and indeed the challenges of the New Year have already shown this to be the case.

  • Perhaps it is timely to mention to you the new audiences that can now be reached through Christian television advertising, where test campaigns – including the cost of the commercial production – can be bought for less that a handful of full page adverts in the colour magazines.   • Or perhaps having seen the benefit of web banner advertising you might want to take advantage of a number of reduced price offers being made at this time on some of the prime sites - not because of falling demand but due to the increase in the number of visitors to some sites resulting in more advertising opportunities becoming available.   • Your organisation may have products and services which are suitable for promotion through a television Infomercial, which is a 15 -30 minute TV programme combining news and information about your organisation together with direct response opportunities – they are brilliant for response. Premier Radio have just announced that they will be shortly launching their Internet based television broadcasting, or IPTV. This is a major development for all of us and will continue to expand the marketplace and offer us all new promotional opportunities. We’ll keep you informed with the developments as they arise. E-mail open rate decline
It’s a sad reflection on the quality of our marketing activity when such a headline is published. In Q4 last year the average opening rate of e mails fell to approximately 31% (depending on the report and results you care to read). So at a time of unprecedented increase in e mail volumes, response rates are really under scrutiny.  Happily the systems and practice at Sovereign are achieving far higher opening and click through rates. We are of the opinion that creativity and targeting has to ‘cut through the clutter of the in-box’ and recognise that people are happy to receive news and information by e mail, but it comes down to its ‘packaging’. Well according to a survey by ConsumerWatch last year, the answer is an emphatic ‘yes’. Click here to see the findings.

Are you part of the 44%
In a recent survey by Marketing Week it was found that 44% of companies interviewed had not used e-mail marketing in the past 6 months, but that upto a quarter of them were planning to do so. If you are part of this 44% do talk to us to ensure that you make the most of this form of marketing.
